The History of The Rose Room

The name the Rose Room originated from visitors to our home who would call the guest bedroom The Rose Room as it was completely decorated in a vintage rose theme while also being used as a showroom to display the vintage wares I was selling online.

In 2006 I opened an actual store in my area of Auckland, New Zealand. I loved my little shop but in December 2007 I made the difficult decision to close it as Internet sales were exceeding actual shop sales, which made it hard to justify paying shop rent. Also my little girl was coming up 5 years old and starting school and I knew I wouldn't be able to be a 7 day a week shop owner and support my little girl fully in her school life the way she deserved to be supported.

The next phase in the journey of The Rose Room was this web store which has been fun developing and allows me to be the best Mummy I can while still indulging in my passion for all things vintage and rose embellished.
